Due to the potential for inclement weather tonight, the 4th grade music program will be rescheduled. The new date will be this Thursday, November 17th. Students will need to arrive at Tyson Elementary at 5:30 PM and the performance will begin at 6:00 PM.

We've had another great week at JTE! We do not have school on Monday, October 24th. Teachers have a professional development day and will be learning about developing Professional Learning Communities with Mike Mattos. Enjoy the three day weekend as a family. Tonight is Family Literacy Night! Here is a schedule for this fun event:
5:30-6:00: Session 1 begins: Visit your child's classroom to learn strategies you can use to strengthen their literacy development.
6:00-6:30: Session 2 begins: If you have multiple children attending Tyson, you may visit your other student's classroom to learn strategies to support their literacy development. If you do not have multiple students at Tyson, you may go to the cafeteria at this time to eat dinner and pick out a free book.
6:30-7:00- Parents and students will be dismissed from sessions to shop for free books and eat dinner.

On Friday, November 11th at 9:00 a.m. and Monday, November 14th at 6:00 p.m. our 4th grade students will perform a patriotic program in honor of our veterans. Help us make this event special by sending in uniformed pictures of the service members in your family to add to our slide show. Please email uniformed pictures in of your student’s mother, father, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or grandparents who served in the U. S. Military to Mrs. Ford(aford@sdale.org) by Monday, November 1st. If you have sent pictures of your military family members in previous years, thank you! We still have copies of their pictures.
