Dear Bernice Young Elementary Family:
We have learned that a member of our school family has tested positive for
COVID-19. We worked with the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) to notify
individuals who were close contacts of the positive case and to quarantine
those individuals. Close contacts are people who have been within 6 feet for
15 or more minutes of the positive person. If you did not receive a call from
the district or ADH, additional action is not required. Of course, you may
contact your medical provider to determine if anything is necessary for you
or your student.
At this time, closures are not necessary. We understand this may cause
anxiousness for you and your family and we regret any hardship. Please feel
free to contact me at (479-750-8770) if you would like to discuss this further.
Sincerely,

Si usted no recibe
Atentamente,
Christy Norwood and Stacey Plumlee

Veteran's Day is coming soon. We are planning to put a slideshow presentation together. If there is a veteran in your child's life please send a picture to younginfo@sdale.org. Please include the veteran's name, student's name and grade. All photos need to be sent in by Monday, November 9th.

The election will be over soon! Who will be president? Duck or Bad Kitty? The votes from our book character election are coming in! Stay tuned....

Thank you for your patience during drop off and pick up during the rain. We know it makes things a little slower. Hopefully only one more rainy day and then some sunshine!
A few reminders:
*When dropping off on the side of the school pull all the way forward and students can go in the door they are closest to. We can unload more cars if everyone pulls up and cars all the way down the sidewalk unload at the same time.
*If you need to change the way your child goes home from school, it is best to call before 2:30 so that we can get the message to your child.

B.Y.E. teachers are the best! We stayed until after 8pm learning about the science of reading. We were joined by Kelli Boortz and Robert Fitzgerald as well. Thank you Dr. Howard for teaching us! #springdalereads
